What is recorded here

Two earthen rings still mark Doocarrig Beg, though one has vanished from human memory and the other waits to be found. They belong to the old world of Kerry, when strength was measured in soil and identity in story. The name Lios na gCraobh suggests a place shaped by trees, shadow and transformation rather than ordinary ownership. What is missing is not a failure of record but an invitation to listen for the part the land stopped repeating.

In the 1940s two raths were recorded in Doocarrig Beg, one in Jeremiah Mahony's land and the other in Clem Cooper's land, said to be connected with 'Lios na gCraobh' (KE068-015----) (Schools Manuscript, Co. Kerry). One of these raths (KE068-029----) has been identified in the townland but the other remains unlocated.
