What is recorded here
Situated within a coniferous plantation on a small prominent hillock surrounded by undulating grassland. Ringfort (WM013-004---) 360m to W, ringfort (WM013-006----) 260m to E. A sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 26m NE-SW) enclosed by a poorly preserved earth and stone bank with entrance gap at SW. The surface of the interior rises sharply towards the centre especially at N. The profile of the monument indicates the possible presence of an internal fosse and a mound (diam. 18m NE-SW) like interior which may suggest that this may be the remains of large barrow rather than that of a ringfort.
See attached profile of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI.
