Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Castletown (connello Upper By.)

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy forts are earthen ringforts people stopped using before maps existed. This one in Castletown keeps a shallow scarped edge on a steep hill slope, with pasture and gravity doing the rest. It is not a display or a warning label. It is a room the land forgot to finish, waiting for someone clever enough to stop asking permission and start watching it breathe.
In pasture, on steep S-facing hill slope. Roughly circular area (33m N-S; 37m E-W) defined by scarped edge NNE->WNW. Scarp (H 1.15m; Wth 3.2m) is best preserved where fall away in natural terrain gradient is greatest E->SW, but lowers at NE (H 0.2m: Wth 1.6m). Interior, under pasture, slopes down sharply to S.
