Fairy fort in Carrigoon is a circular earthen ringfort, about 27m across, set on a gentle south-facing slope above the River Blackwater in County Cork. Its low scarp and shallow outer dips mark a made shape in pasture, while local information holds that an underground passage lies within. People may have lived, hidden or worshipped there before the field swallowed the edges; the river still takes what the land lets go.

In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope which falls steeply c. 30m beyond site down to River Blackwater. Circular saucer-shaped area (c. 27m N-S) defined by low scarp, with external depression (D 0.1m) to ESE and NW. According to local information circular feature visible in field when ploughed. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO033-109---) in interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
