What is recorded here

Campstown holds a vanished ringfort on a drumlin summit, its twenty-nine-metre circle reduced to a subtle rise and broken boundary. Fields consumed the eastern and western banks, yet the original shape still emerges when rain darkens the soil or a person walks the ridge at dusk. The fort is no longer a fort in any practical sense, but it remains a camp in the older meaning: a place where life was shaped, remembered and repeated.

Not marked on any OS ed. Situated on the summit of a drumlin hill. Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 29.2m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a fosse. From E-S-WSW the perimeter has been greatly modified and incorporated into the field boundary. Elsewhere it has been levelled but its outline may still be traced.
