Fairy fort in Boagh, County Cavan: a raised circular area, 38.5m across inside, enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep fosse. Its name suggests people once imagined more than humans inside, yet the shape is plainly made for living, defending or excluding. If the SE entrance is correct, the fort still points toward the land it faced, inviting entry only on its own terms.
