One fairytale fort still stands in Ballynahow More, but the second vanished before modern maps could capture it. Ua Riain wrote about both in 1927, proving that human hands can erase old places as quickly as they build them. The surviving ringfort remains a quiet witness to the one lost, preserving the shape of what no longer exists.

Ua Riain recorded 'two lisses', neither of which are marked on the OS maps, in this townland (1927). One is a rath (KE070-053----), and the second he described as 'recently destroyed'. A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballynahow More is a likely early-medieval circular earthwork, traditionally associated with both prehistoric settlement and later folklore surrounding fairies or supernatural beings. Ua Riain's 1927 record notes two such structures, one of which has since been destroyed and is no longer identifiable.
