The earthen ringfort in Ballynagare, County Kerry, Ireland, still holds a twenty-one-metre circular shape despite losing half its boundary to a later fieldbank. Its low bank and shallow fosse mark a place where people shaped the land before forgetting the names of those who lived there. What remains is not a complete fortress but a visible reminder that human hands built, used and abandoned the ground long before modern surveyors measured it.

Internal diameter 21m E-W This circular univallate rath is situated SE of KE016-004002- and lies just outside the large sub-circular enclosure (835). It has been cut on its N sector by a fieldbank and all that survives today is a semi-circular area enclosed by a low earthen bank and exterior fosse. The enclosing bank is 4m-6m wide and rises to 1m externally and to a maximum of .8m internally. The external fosse can only be identified from the S to W, it is c 2m wide and .4m below the height of the surrounding land. The above description is derived from C.
