Fairy fort in Ballymacsliney, County Cork, is a levelled earthen ringfort on a pasture knoll, its circular boundary still marked by low undulations twenty-two and a half metres across. People may have lived there in antiquity, tending animals or claiming land, before forgetting the name and calling it fairy. The field keeps the shape even when memory leaves it.
