Fairy fort in Ballyengland Upper is a circular earthen ringfort, about 44 metres across, set atop a low rise in pasture. Its scarped edge and thin bank still mark the boundary, while the interior slopes gently downward beneath grass and trampling hooves. A limestone ridge lies just east, as if the field itself leaned against the circle. People may have lived there, excluded others, or simply followed the shape the land had already made.

In pasture, atop low rise in gently undulating terrain. Circular area (44.3m N-S; 43.1m E-W) defined by scarped edge (H 0.85m; Wth 9m) N->NW, and enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.3m) NW->N. Scarp best preserved NE->S. Interior, under pasture, slopes gently down towards centre. A ridge of limestone outcrop lies immediately E of enclosure.
