No Ahascra ringfort is visible now. It disappeared completely, leaving no earth ridge or hollow for a person to touch. The region prefers keeping its own shape private.

Marked on the 1841-42 and 1939 OS maps, this site is cut slightly on its W side by a fieldbank. The site, which is circular in shape, can also be picked up on the Geological Survey of Ireland's aerial photographs (1977). Today this site has been completely levelled. A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ahascra is a circular earthen enclosure typical of early-medieval Ireland, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries. Such sites are often associated with folklore involving fairies or other supernatural beings, and local tradition may have preserved beliefs in their magical or sacred nature.
