Indicated is a hidden ringfort in County Mayo, Ireland, where thick brambles and hazel still guard an oval scarped rise overlooking damp lowland ground. The southwest edge drops vertically to a narrow terrace beside a field wall, while stone heaps glimpse through the tangle like forgotten rooms. Other raths watch from nearby rises, suggesting the valley once belonged to a whole cluster of defended lives.

In pasture, located on a rise, with good views; overlooking lowlying damp ground to SW. Raised oval area (c. 35m NW−SE; c. 25m NE−SW) defined by a scarp. Stone facing is evident on the scarp (H 1.45m) at E. At N−E large boulders and field clearance debris are piled against the external slope of the scarp. The scarp (H 1.1m) on the S−W is cut to the vertical, dropping to a terrace bordered on its outer edge by a field wall (W 0.7m; ext. H 0.8m). Inspection was difficult: The perimeter is thickly ringed with hazel and hawthorn, and the interior is obscured by an impenetrable tangle of brambles and thorn bushes. Heaps of stones (max. dims. 2-6m) can be glimpsed beneath the overgrowth. Raths (MA072-068001-; MA072-071----; MA072-073----; MA072-074----) are located 282m to NE; 190m to SW and 275m to SE, 360m to ENE, respectively.
