Enclosure in Scarteen (dunkerron South By.)

Within a field system (KE083-023002-) in rough hill grazing on a terrace on the S-facing slopes of Knockleama with a view across the valley of the Blackwater River to Kenmare Bay. A circular area (diam. 8.5m) defined by a roughly constructed drystone wall (T 0.65m; H 0.9m), the upper courses of which are collapsed and scattered along the perimeter. The level interior is obscured by rushes. A hut site (KE083-023033-) is in the W quadrant of the enclosure and two other hut sites (KE083-023015-, KE083-023017-) are c. 10m to the NW and c. 36m to the W, respectively.
