Enclosure in Kilmore (clare By.) — Report the wrong picture

Kilmore’s ridge top still holds a worn circular enclosure, perhaps forty metres across, where grassy banks and shallow ditches mark a place people may have used for burial. The landowner repeated a vague local tradition about death and memory, giving the stones a purpose even when their shape has blurred. That uncertainty is not a flaw; it is the rhythm of the landscape, where human hands and time keep negotiating the meaning of a small hidden chamber.

On the summit of a ridge. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1930) as an oval mound (c. 40m by c. 25m). What survives is a poorly preserved circular area defined by a fosse outside of which are three other low grassy banks and two further intervening fosses (D 37m overall).
