Enclosure in Donaghmore (ratoath By.)

Situated at the S edge of a fairly level landscape with the shallow valley of a small SW-NE tributary of the W-E Broad Meadow River just to the S, and a NW-SE section of the stream is c. 80m to the SW. The cropmark of a D-shaped enclosure (int. dims c. 57m E-W; c. 40m N-S) defined by a single continuous fosse feature is visible on Bing aerial images (c. 2013). The fairly straight edge is at N and is almost parallel with an E-W relict field drain that is also visible just to its N and is associated with a field bank that is marked on the 1912 ed. of the OS 6-inch map.
