Fenton Tower is a fortified castle in East Lothian, Scotland, built around 1550 by Patrick Whytelaw. James VI of Scotland took refuge there in 1591 after escaping army fire in Fife. Oliver Cromwell ruined the tower in 1650, presumably killing its resident proprietor, the Earl of Dirleton. Restored from 1998, it now operates as a hotel and event venue.
