Cill Ard graveyard still breathes beneath the shifting sand on the east side of Dunree Hill, watching Crummies Bay through a circular hole the wind keeps open. People died there before the coast changed, and the sea never learned their names. The sand covers the graves but cannot erase the shape, which is why the ground remains slightly raised and the air feels occupied.

A slightly raised area is said to be the site of Cill Ard graveyard, buried under the shifting sand. It is believed locally that the graveyard was circular in plan. The site is located on the E side of Dunree Hill overlooking Crummies Bay. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
