Two upright stones still hold a lintel above a hidden chamber on a slight Monaghan rise, not far from a small pot lough. The name Giants Grave appeared in gothic letters on a 1907 map, as if the place had waited for someone to write it down. Under the stone may lie an old court tomb, and beside it a man might have stood at dusk, listening for water movement in the lough.

Situated on a slight rise in a low-lying landscape between drumlins with a small pot lough (diam. c. 100m) c. 150m to the E. It is depicted only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘Giants Grave’. Two orthostats support a lintel, which could be interpreted as the entrance to a court tomb (de Valera 1960, 131).
