Enclosure in Dunkip

Enclosure

What is recorded here

Dunkip is a levelled enclosure in County Limerick, Ireland, beside a possible ringfort and another enclosure. Its shallow trace suggests a small domestic or ritual place rather than a grand fortress. The land has been farmed and changed, but the circle still belongs to the region’s older life.
In reclaimed pasture, with possible ringfort (LI031-058----) 50m to E, enclosure (LI031-132----) 100m to N. Cropmark of levelled enclosure (int. diam. c. 27m) visible on Google Earth orthophoto taken 28/06/2018.
