What is recorded here

Dungar is not a point on a modern map, but a standing stone in Offaly that vanished before human memory. The 1840 survey still drew it, which means the stone stood tall enough to mark when the land was young. It may have guided a road, witnessed a burial or simply resisted the plough. Now the ground has taken back what it borrowed, leaving only the line drawn by someone who believed the stone was real.
