What is recorded here

No fairy ever flew here. The Fort Company cut through the western bank and took the stones for roadwork. They left a hole wide enough for a cart, then forgot the place existed. The fort still stands because nobody measured the damage or recorded the loss. What is missing cannot be protected. What is known cannot be invented away. The company took what it wanted and departed. The earth kept the shape because no person claimed the wound.

Some 180m NW of a ringfort (GA030-056----). Poorly preserved subcircular rath (E-W 32m, N-S 28m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is present from NE through E to SW; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. The fosse and outer bank survive only from NNE to ENE. Quarrying has encroached upon the monument at W. Possible entrance at SE.
