Whitcastles holds a Bronze Age stone circle where nine fallen rocks still mark a wide oval beside later farm buildings and kiln remains. The largest stones face north and south, pointing toward cardinal directions common along the Solway Firth. People may have gathered there for ritual, burial or seasonal marking before later hands built, burned and cultivated the same ground.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Whitcastles as Building (post Medieval), Cultivation Remains (medieval) - (post Medieval), Farmstead (post Medieval), Kiln (post Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
