Highest mountain in southern Scotland.
Merrick, the highest peak in southern Scotland, rises to approximately 839 metres and is part of the Southern Uplands. It is composed mainly of Silurian greywacke and is a prominent landmark in the Galloway Hills, valued for its scenic beauty and as a key point for hikers and geologists.
