Cairnerzean

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Cairnerzean as Burnt Mound (prehistoric)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

A burnt mound, likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age; such features are associated with domestic or ritual activities involving heat. Its precise function remains unclear, and wider significance is not recorded.
