Bárid mac Ímar died in Dublin in 881 after ruling the city from 873. He was a ninth-century King of Dublin, a son of Ímar Ragnarsson and a member of the Uí Ímair. Before taking the Dublin throne, he acted as a Jarl of Lochlann and raided westward with a great fleet. He may have fostered a son of Áed Findliath, using a common Irish practice to strengthen ties between different ruling families.
