End-of-terrace two-bay two-storey house over raised basement, built c.1830, one of terrace of five. M-profile pitched slate roof behind parapet with granite coping, having brown brick corbelled chimneystack with yellow clay pots. No visible rainwater goods. Brown brick walling to first floor laid down in Flemish bond having cement pointing. Channelled rendered wall to ground floor and rendered wall to basement area. South gable elevation in mixed red and brown brick. Cast-iron tie-plates to all elevations. Gauged flat-arched window openings, having patent rendered reveals, continuous moulded render sills to first floor opening and render sill to ground floor. Replacement uPVC windows throughout, with tripartite window to basement opening. Segmental-headed door opening within timber doorcase having channelled rendered surround. Replacement timber panelled door flanked by engaged panelled pilasters terminating in foliate acanthus scrolled console brackets surmounted by simple frieze and cornice. Leaded fanlight with geometric motif. Square-headed door opening to basement level having replacement glazed timber door. Main entrance approached via three concrete steps with replacement hand railings, concrete surface path from street. Basement area accessed via three concrete steps. Set back from street and bounded by replacement wrought-iron railings.

This house plays a vital role in a well composed early nineteenth-century terrace of five houses. This fine end-of-terrace house is distinguished from the group by a channelled render treatment at ground floor level and the geometric form of the fanlight which serve to enliven the front elevation. Located in close proximity to Aldborough House (completed in 1799), this terrace forms part of the earlier development phase of the North Circular Road of which Portland Row forms an element.
