Terraced four-storey house over raised basement, built c.1760, having three-bay ground floor and two-bay upper floors. Built as one of four similar houses. Now in use multiple occupancy. Pitched roof hidden behind parapet wall with granite coping. Tall shared shouldered yellow brick chimneystack with clay pots to north party wall. Shared cast-iron hopper and downpipe breaking through parapet to north. Painted smooth rendered walls on painted granite plinth course and rendered basement walls. Square-headed window openings with patent rendered reveals, granite sills and replacement timber sliding sash windows, three-over-three pane to top floor and six-over-six pane to lower floors. Unaligned window openings to ground floor, and original wrought-iron balconettes to first floor. Round-headed door opening with projecting moulded surround and advanced painted stone Ionic doorcase. Replacement timber door flanked by engaged Ionic columns on plinth bases supporting fluted lintel cornice and replacement leaded fanlight over. Door opens onto granite platform and five granite steps with partially intact wrought-iron bootscraper. Platform and basement area enclosed by wrought-iron railings on moulded granite plinth wall with wrought-iron corner piers. Matching iron gate gives access to basement level.

Built as one of four similar houses, this house shares their scale and massing but varies in the style of its doorcase. The retention of the fine stone doorcase, and iron balconettes and railings enhances the building, and the retention of timber sash windows contributes to the house's character. The form and composition, togetheer with the various original and sympathetic details, together with its setting as part of a similar group within a good Georgian terrace, contributes to the significance of this building in the wider townscape.
