Rock art in Drumsinnot

Rock art

What is recorded here

Rock art in Drumsinnot marks a shallow rise where a small stone surface carries a cup inside two circles. Aoibheann Lambe first reported the place, drawing attention to an old-looking mark exposed on land that has probably watched weather, footsteps and forgetting. The double circle does not explain itself, but it invites imagination: a offering, a boundary, a game or a lesson written without words.
Situated on a rise in an undulating landscape. A piece of rock outcrop (dims c. 1m x. c. 3m) has at least one motif of a cupmark in a double circle on its upper surface. It was first reported by Aoibheann Lambe. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 21 October,2019
