What is recorded here
Drumbroneth lost its rath to destruction, leaving behind a buried circle instead of a standing wall. The site belongs to the early Christian period, when local people built defensive rings around homes, herds and perhaps small churches. It is gone now, but the land still remembers the shape of human fear and pride.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH (destroyed). Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
