PLATFORM RATH in Drumbargy

PLATFORM RATH

What is recorded here

Mortons has no visible monument but the field holds a hidden chamber where chamber pots and copper coins waited for discovery. The platform rises slightly above ordinary farmland, marking a place where people gathered, traded or performed rituals before the land was forgotten. What is missing is not emptiness; it is the shape of the room, the identity of the keeper and the moment the chamber stopped receiving gifts.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as PLATFORM RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
