Indicated is a crannog in County Monaghan, Ireland, hidden near the west end of Muckno Mill Lough. It still appears as an island on old maps, though it is now only an oval overgrown ridge above marshy water. Charcoal and animal bones lie along its shore, suggesting people lived there before the lake claimed most of the evidence.

Located towards the W end of Muckno Mill Lough, an oval lake (dims c. 900m WNW-ESE; c. 160-300m N-S) that once had a triangular extension (dims c. 400m NE-SW; c. 180m E-W at N) extending S from the E end of the S side. The crannog is depicted as an island on the 1834 and 1907 editions of the OS 6-inch map. This is an oval overgrown area (dims 25m E-W; 16m N-S; H 1m) surrounded by marshy ground c. 30m from a promontory on the S shore of the lake. No structural features were evident, but charcoal and animal bones were visible on the crannog’s shore.
