Ballynoe Stone Circle

Fifty stones still stand in a thirty-five-metre ring near Ballynoe, though seventy may have crowded the circle when people first walked it. They are not giants dropped from the sky, nor beads strung for a god; they are a address written in rock, a boundary drawn around life itself. The mound inside the ring came later, perhaps born from grief or pride, and the pair of stones at the western edge still tilt toward the spring equinox as if waiting for someone to return.
