Audleystown Cairn

Audleystown Cairn is a dual court tomb in County Down where thirty-four people, including children, were buried beside animal bones and flint tools. Its trapezoidal shape has neat drystone walls and two shallow forecourts leading into four-chambered galleries. The dead had been burned or left unburned, suggesting the community used both ways of honouring departure.
