What is recorded here

Derryree in County Fermanagh once held a standing stone that is no longer visible. The lost marker may have guided herds, marked a boundary or watched a road before people wrote down why they stacked stone against the sky. Its removal empties the field but does not erase the shape it kept.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE (removed). Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
