What is recorded here

Enclosure in Derryco is a well-defined earthen ring south-east of Derryco Church in County Kerry, Ireland. Its exterior rises 1.3m with a stepped effect while the interior bank stands 0.5m high around a 27m space. A bohareen cuts the west side and a fieldbank marks the north, suggesting the ring served living land rather than standing alone. People may have gathered there to mark seasons, settle disputes or simply enjoy the shelter of its bank before roads and fields reshaped the edge.

Situated SE of Derryco Church (KE009-022----), this enclosure has been cut on the W side by a bohareen and on the N side by a fieldbank. The enclosing earthen bank of this site is well defined and rises to .5m above the interior. The exterior side has a stepped effect and rises to a maximum of 1.3m above the surrounding land.
