What is recorded here

Originally recorded as closely set, parallel roundwood and brushwood located on the field surface, immediately WSW of a drain (exposed L 1.5m; Wth 2m). Three substantial roundwoods (diam. 0.1-0.14m) were present (Dunne 1999, 25, 99DBNW018A). Excavation in 2001 yielded an Iron Age date of 16 BC-AD 2 (Whitaker 2009, 46). The remains were composed of brushwood and roundwood, all orientated N-S. All of the ends were flat-faceted and appear to have been metal cut. Compiled by: Mary Tunney based on data supplied by Jane Whitaker, Archaeological Development Services. Date of upload: 26 August 2011
