Polldubh North

Recorded cave place

What is recorded here

Polldubh North is a Clare cave where water still cuts through ancient stone. It has three entrances, including a deep pothole and a depression beside a peat cutters' road. The passages record changing rivers, abandoned routes and rooms where human marks appeared, faded and were buried again.
The Irish Caves Database records Polldubh North at Derreen South in County Clare. This point comes from its public cave register. A cave map point does not by itself grant access: check local conditions and ask the landowner where needed.

The cave register does not grant public access. Check conditions and ask the landowner before entering private land.
