What is recorded here

Indicated is a 48-metre fairy fort on a Longford pasture slope, its low earth bank partly swallowed by modern field boundaries while the shallow fosse still marks the circle beneath grass and drain. The original entrance has vanished, yet the ring remains visible enough to walk, measure and imagine. It is the kind of place where human life may have turned, hidden or raged before forgetting its own name.

On a SW-facing slope in pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 48m) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.9m; H 0.3m) with the remains of a shallow external fosse (Wth 3.1m; D 0.4m). The bank has been modified and incorporated into field boundaries from WSW-W-N and from E-ESE-SE. The fosse only survives from WSW-W-NW where it has been deepened and reused as a field drain. Elsewhere both the bank and fosse have been levelled but their outlines are still identifiable. The original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F.
