What is recorded here

Deer Park still holds the buried line of a rath, an ancient earthwork that marked human life before modern borders drew their straight edges across County Antrim. The ground may have swallowed the fence, gate and room, but it did not erase the choice of a place worthy of protection. To walk near that lost circle is to share a small moment with everyone who first shaped the land and left it marked.
