What is recorded here

This is the possible location of a Carmelite Friary founded in 1302 of which there is now no visble trace (Bradley and King 1985, 27). In 1999, limited archaeological test excavation (Excavation Licence No. 99E0061) was carried out. This did not reveal any traces of a structure, however some fragments of roof tile were found. (O' Carroll 2000, 190). Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 28 June 2012
