Indicated

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Indicated is a graveyard on a steep E-facing slope in County Kildare, where a ruined medieval church still touches a 19th-century church. A stone wall encloses the place, with burials clustered to the south and west and the earliest legible markers dating to the 19th-century. The older church has lost most of its body, but the ground remains marked, crowded and continuous.
At the top of a moderately steep E-facing pasture slope. A large roughly rectangular area (c. 72m NE-SW; c. 50m NW-SE) is enclosed by a stone wall with an entrance gate on the W side. The interior contains the foundations of ruined medieval church (KD032-005----) adjoining a later, 19th-century church. Burials are concentrated to S and W of the church and the earliest legible grave markers date to the 19th-century. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 14 October 2013
