Grave Yard in County Kilkenny holds a ruinous medieval church along its north edge, while the Mass Field waits beside it for prayers no longer spoken. The irregular plot narrows westward like a breath letting go, bounded by a stone wall and marked by few headstones from the early 1800s. It is not a grand cemetery but a small attached burying ground where ordinary death still belongs to the land.

An irregular-shaped graveyard (dims. c. 36m E-W; c. 35m N-S at the E end of the graveyard, tapering to c. 18m at the W end) with a ruinous medieval church (KK031-004001-) along the N boundary. The surrounding field to the N is known locally as the Mass Field. The OS Letters (1839) describe, ‘A small burying ground attached’ to the medieval church (O’Flanagan 1930, vol. 2, 93 (30)). Carrigan (1905, vol. 4, 39) mentions a couple of headstones in the graveyard, both of which date to the first half of the 19th century.
