Recorded by Scally (2014, 113, Figs. 5.41 and 5.64, Pl. 5.42), this rectangular cross-base (L 0.52m; Wth 0.52m; H 0.17m) was inserted into the base of a wall directly in front of the entrance to ‘Cell A’, the clochan (GA021-026012-) to the N of the church (GA021-026014-) on High Island. The cross in High Island was likely built by early Christian monks, probably between the 7th and 10th centuries, and is associated with the clochan or small stone cell in the area.
