What is recorded here

Indicated is a crannog in County Mayo, Ireland, though no visible marker remains to prove it. The water may have swallowed the wooden stakes and rooftops long ago, leaving only a faint shadow beneath the surface. Perhaps it was a refuge from rain or a trap for careless boats, but the lake keeps that choice secret.
