Cahermackirilla holds a cremated adult buried between cairn layers, accompanied by blue glass beads and clear quartz. The discovery emerged during the first research season at the prehistoric monument complex. Someone placed these objects with the remains, suggesting the dead person still mattered enough to receive decoration and deliberate handling.

During the first season of a research excavation on a complex of prehistoric monuments, a cremated burial was uncovered on the N side of a cairn (CL009-084010-). It was found between two ‘layers’ of the cairn material. One complete blue glass bead and three fragments of other blue glass beads were found, as well as a clear piece of quartz (Grant 2004, 29, no. 112).
