Two octagonal fonts crouch in the parish church of Balrathboyne. The north-west limestone basin holds barely enough water to drown a small bird, yet its chamfered panels and shallow dish suggest generations of trembling infants lowered into cold clarity. That much smaller vessel may have served children while the larger one waited for adults, forcing every baptised person to meet the same depth of water and the same chance of sinking.

Two flat-rimmed, octagonal fonts are located in the parish church of Balrathboyne (ME024-001----). That in the NW angle of the nave is limestone (dims 0.56m x 0.52m; H 0.23m) with a circular, dished basin (diam. 0.42m; max. D 0.17m) and chamfered under-panels.
