Castle Canyke is an eighteen-acre Iron Age hillfort near Bodmin where six thousand men trained for the Prayer Book Rebellion of 1549 before marching to defeat. Its triple earthworks still mark the hillcrest, preserving the scale of a kingdom that gathered strength there before losing it.
