What is recorded here

Terraced three-bay four-storey commercial building, built c. 1890, now in use as offices and flats. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystack and rendered parapet. Rendered walls with recessed panels to upper floor windows, and having render pilasters, string courses and cornice to first floor. Replacement uPVC windows to upper floors. Pair of shopfronts, c. 1970, with timber fixed windows and glazed doors.
This building is a positive addition to the streetscape, due to its scale and form. Though many interesting features and materials have been replaced, the render detail is a notable feature. Clearly executed by skilled craftsmen, the first floor is articulated by the render pilasters, string courses and cornice. The recessed panels, which the upper floor windows are set into, are an interesting architectural feature.
