Random rubble sandstone retaining wall, c. 1850, 150m long having pair of limestone piers, c. 1850; limestone steps to west end of wall having decorative cast iron handrail leading to Charlemont Terrace.
A massive retaining wall using local sandstone which dominates the character of this portion of Wellington Road. The steps lead up to the long front south facing gardens of Charlemont Terrace.
