Half a ringfort in County Galway still holds a T-shaped cave of dry stone, its chambers joined by a creep narrow enough to force a person into humility. The east chamber stretches seven and a half metres, then bends south through a low passage into a second room six metres long. It is not a grand palace, but a made hole in the earth where breath, shadow and memory would have crowded together.

In W half of a ringfort (GA070-045----). A well-preserved drystone-built Man-made underground passage, roughly T-shaped in plan, consisting of two chambers connected by a creep. Access is gained via an opening at E end of 1st chamber (L 7.75m, Wth 1.75m) which runs E-W. Some 5m W of the present entrance, the creep (L 1.47m Wth 0.86m) extends off S wall and leads to 2nd chamber (L 6.4m, Wth 1.73m max.) which runs at a right angle on a N-S axis.
